Talking Points

Tony has been an educator across Wisconsin, from Tomah to Oakfield. No matter where he worked he always put kids first. As State Superintendent he has had to do more with less and helped improved public education for our 860,000 public school kids.  We need to continue to bring new ideas into the educational system so that every kid receives a world-class education. Tony wants to continue to focus on these areas:
Career Readiness for Young Adults.  We must continue to improve career and technical education programs in our public schools so that young adults can obtain training or apprenticeships that lead to family-supporting jobs.
Increase Graduation Rates.  We have to get all our kids across the finish line. Since Tony's been State Superintendent, he has done more with fewer resources. Our graduation rates have grown to over 90%.  We can’t stop until we hit 100%.
Fix the State’s Unfair School Finance System.  Tony's Fair Funding proposal fixes the most significant problems in the state’s existing school finance system, protects taxpayers, and promotes local control.
